In Memoriam: Don Hoover

Don Hoover was a founding member of the Alberta Expropriation Association and attended the initial conference in 1988.  Don’s contribution to the Surface Rights and Expropriation fields was already well-established prior to the forming of the organization. He provided expert testimony on key surface rights and expropriation law that was established in the 1970s and 1980s – through to today.

Don built a reputation as an honest, humble and passionate person, with integrity that helped grow the agricultural/appraisal expert as a fundamental component to the development of the law on important issues. He had passionate support for AEA, contributing to conferences as a presenter and attendee. He always made an effort to attend even when conflicts arose as he felt it was vital to come and visit with his friends and colleagues, and remain up-to-date on the issues in the industry.
